What should I wear?
During the day, anything from business to casual dress is appropriate. Evening attire is at your discretion.

How much is parking?
Valet parking is $46 USD per day. Self-parking is not available.

Will there be WiFi?
Complimentary basic high-speed wireless internet will be provided in sleeping rooms of ASPE attendees.

Besides sessions, what events are happening?
During the conference, ASPE offers plenty of networking opportunities! Sunday afternoon, ASPE will host the First Time Attendee Welcome Orientation. Sunday evening, ASPE will kick-off the conference with our opening plenary and then the Welcome Reception with Exhibitors. Don't forget to join us Monday morning for the ASPE Business Meeting and in the evening, attend the Poster Reception. 

How do I confirm my hotel reservation?
To confirm your reservation, please call the Reservations Department at the Portland Marriott Downtown Waterfront at (503) 226-7600.

Please note, ASPE Headquarters is unable to view your reservations.

When is the hotel cutoff date?
The cutoff date for hotel reservations is Thursday, May 7, 2020.

When will I be assigned my booth?
Booth locations will be provided when you check-in on site.

How are booth placements given?
Booth locations will be assigned at the sole discretion of show management. Placement will be made based on the date of the received contract, electrical needs, sponsorship level, and if possible, direct competitors.

I am interested in hosting an affiliate event – who do I contact?
If your company is interested in hosting an affiliate event, please contact the Portland Marriott Downtown Waterfront directly for your planning needs.

When will I receive the preliminary registration list?
Preliminary registration lists are sent out approximately two weeks prior to the symposium.

Belinda Fu, MD

Belinda Fu, MD, (@TheImprovDoc) is a family medicine physician, medical educator, and improvisational actor. She is Clinical Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at the University of Washington, Faculty at Swedish Family Medicine Residency–First Hill in Seattle, and Director of The Mayutica Institute, an education and training organization. Dr. Fu is a national leader and innovator in the field of medical improv. She performs improv as an active ensemble member of Seattle Theatresports™.


Gabriel Reedy, PhD

Dr. Reedy is a Reader in Clinical Education in the Faculty of Life Sciences and Medicine at King’s College London, where he directs the Masters in Clinical Education. He holds a PhD in Cognitive and Educational Psychology from the University of Washington. He is a Chartered Psychologist and an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society, and is on the Scientific Committee of the Society in Europe for Simulation as Applied to Medicine (SESAM). His research focuses on how healthcare professionals learn and work together, and especially how simulated environments can be used for learning, teaching, and assessment.
