Members of the ASPE Board of Directors are the stewards of the Association and are responsible for reflecting the views and interests of all our members.

 

The Board provides leadership, a shared vision, and a sense of mission for ASPE and is responsible for the fiscal health of our organization.

OPEN POSITIONS

PRESIDENT-ELECT (2023-2026):

Will serve a total of four (4) years:

  • 2023: President-Elect
  • 2024-2025: President
  • 2026: Immediate Past President

The President-Elect:

  • Has the responsibility of contributing to the strategic direction of ASPE and the fulfillment of its goals;
  • Works closely with the President to promote the goals and strategic plan for the organization; and
  • Works closely with the President to ensure optimal succession planning regarding the President’s role and duties.

VICE PRESIDENT FOR FINANCE (2023-2024): 

The Vice President for Finance is a three-year elected position,  serving two (2) years as an active Board member and one (1) year in an advisory capacity. This position is responsible for overseeing the Association’s finances.  

DOMESTIC MEMBER LIAISON (2023-2024):

The candidate must reside in the U.S. or Canada, and represent the ASPE community. The Liaison is responsible for completing a project for the benefit of members. Potential projects include:

  • Enhancement of SP Methodology.
  • Expanding special topics or advancements, e.g., ASPE's Center for SP Methodology.

Section 2: Purpose

ASPE is the international organization of educators dedicated to human simulation through:

  • Promoting best practices in the application of SP methodology for education, assessment, and research;
  • Fostering the dissemination of research and scholarship in the field of SP methodology;
  • Advancing the professional knowledge and skills of its members and affiliates, and elevating the profession’s credibility and expertise;
  • Engaging actively with members, educators, and learners beyond borders; modeling social justice, embracing inclusivity; and
  • Transforming professional performance through the power of human interaction.
