Center Location: Boise, Idaho, USA Year Opened: 2010 Center Mission Statement: Our mission is to provide experiential learning and research opportunities for learners and faculty using state-of-the-art technologies and best practices in simulation education. We aim to promote the use of simulation in health science education to meet the needs for collaboration, communication and teamwork resulting in improved care, enhanced safety, and reduction of human error. Our vision is to be recognized as an accredited, state-of-the-art simulation center in health science education and research in northwest America.
Bragging Points:
- We were the first center in Idaho to be fully accredited by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare and one of the first 50 in the US.
- We are also one of the few accredited Nationwide in both Research and Teaching/Education.
- We’ve hosted 4 National League for Nursing/Boise State University Simulation conferences. Our School of Nursing Simulation team won the University Foundation Excellence Award for Team Collaboration.

- Other: Our center mimics an actual medical facility with a hallway, nurses' station, patient rooms, functioning headwalls, crash carts, and set ups for Telehealth simulations, all of which is visible from the control room and equipped with video cameras for live monitoring. We have 3 practice labs with a total of 18 beds, and rooms for home visits and intake office. Our self-care room is a calm environment where students, faculty, and staff can de-stress through meditation, yoga or other reflective activities.
